Come down to Alistair Knox park Main Road Eltham on Sunday, November 8, 2009 and support local music and enjoy the fun of this years youth stage. If your not into music there will be plenty of other attractions including free rides, Market Stalls, other entertainment and much more.
The Major Sponsor for the Rotaract Youth Stage 2009
Acts this year on the Youth Stage include
Snakebusters,
The Snakebuster, Raymond Hoser with 14 deadly snakes (9 Tiger, 3 Black, 1 Brown & 1 Copperhead) No one else in Australia handles snakes like this
Nothing pulls a crowd like a snake and reptile show! And no snake show pulls a crowd like Raymond Hoser and the Snakebusters team. We are the only people with the five deadliest snakes on earth: namely, Taipan, Fierce, Tiger, Brown and Death Adder, plus the local deadlies, as well as giant pythons, crocodiles and other reptiles that the public get to handle. We are the best, most experienced handlers in the business. Remember we wrote and published the book “Australian Reptiles and Frogs” way back in 1989, which is still everyone else’s “Bible” on snakes, etc ... and not only that, Snakebusters are the best entertainers. Snakebusters are known as “full-on hands on”. We allow lots of people to hold lots of reptiles at the same time. No one else comes close!
Southern Soho
We're gonna rock the s**t outta you
Southern Soho first fused electric rock music on the 17th day of April in the year 2009. It was with great spirit and fervor that Linz, Macca and Jez instantaneously injected the surrounding external soundwaves with a myriad of melodies and lyrics. After a month and a half of writing, the band loaded up their drums and guitars in the back of a Toyota Corolla named 'Juno' and a Honda Accord called 'Monica', and headed for the studio to record a rockingly delectable self-titled EP...

The Statics,
‘Songs We Wish We Wrote’ comes out October 2009 on Psycho Janitor Records.
Forming in 2008, the Statics wasted no time getting things started - writing, recording and releasing a debut album by mid 2008 (CandyPants Records), which was then followed by hundreds of hours in a 12 seater van playing every pub, club, radio station, school, dive, all ages festival and house party possible.
“We didn’t want to play it safe. We didn’t just wanna be another ‘myspace’ or ‘weekend’ band. We figured f@%k it! Lets record an album, get in the van and sell some discs and if we’re lucky a t-shirt or two!” bassist Pat McKenna explains.
With no management or booking agent, building a fan base is near impossible in Melbourne but this only fuels the bands motivation further. “We handed out close to five thousand CDs last year out the front of our gigs and other bands gigs. Basically, anything to get people aware of the band and hopefully enjoying our songs as much as we do.”
Rudely Interrupted
Constance - the human metronnome, Josh - drums, Marcus - synths, Rory - vocals and guitars, Rohan - backing vocals and guitar, Sam - bassAnother sepcial band called Rudely Interrupted one of Australias truly unique indie rock acts. 5 out of the 6 members share a range of both physical and intellectual disabilities (Blindness, Deafness, Aspergers, Autism and Down Syndrome) but most importantly, a common interest in self expression through music. Their achievements, both personal and professional to date are extraordinary.
And not to mention Andrew Dyson Freestanding Ladder Juggling Featuring his 'Guinness World Records' trick, this is a high energy, highly skilled combination of balance, juggling and manipulation.

The Rotaract Club of Diamond Valley will have a stall at the Eltham Festival next to the Rotary Tent and one also near the Youth Stage. Our club will be selling Life Straws and shoe laces on behalf of Zaidee’s Rainbow Foundation.
In partnership with the Rotaract club of Whitehorse, our club is raising funds for the purchase of LifeStraws. By selling a $3 colourful reusable straw we can purchase a LifeStraw for a needy individual. A LifeStraw provides the user with access to safe and clean drinking water; it is a portable water filter that removes 99.9999% of waterborne bacteria and 98% of waterborne viruses turning a dirty puddle into a viable water source. Around 6,000 children die from waterborne disease each day caused by consuming unsafe water. Our club strongly believes in the value of LifeStraws to the worlds disadvantage and the Rotary Eltham Town Festival a wonderful opportunity to raise awareness of the importance of safe drinking water
Zaidee’s Rainbow Foundation, Currently 1 in 5 people on the transplant list may never get the chance to live to see their next birthday. Zaidee’s Rainbow Foundation aims to get more people signing up as organ donors and more families discussing with their parents and children what it means to be an organ donor and why this decision is an important one to make especially when it comes to ensuring that a person’s wishes as an organ donor are respected and not reversed should a decision need to be made. Of the 218 000 people who died in 2004, only 218 were donors.
